Starting a research project can be daunting, there are many aspects to consider, from defining a  research topic to conducting the literature review and writing the actual paper.

However, there is a database that offers a step-by-step guide to the entire research process.

SAGE Research Methods is a research methods tool created to help researchers, faculty, and students with their research projects. Researchers can explore methods concepts to help them design research projects, understand particular methods or identify a new method, conduct their research, and write up their findings. Since it focuses on methodology rather than disciplines, it can be used across the social sciences, health sciences, and more.

From the ‘Project Planner’ tab of this database, you will be able to navigate through the different stages of research. The project planner has definitions, how-to guides and highlights pertinent research questions. The information is presented in bite-sized sections. If you are more familiar with a certain stage of the research, you also have the option to skip that stage and just hone in on areas where you need more information.

Do also explore other tabs like research videos, case studies of real research, and data analysis.

No matter where you are in your research process, it is never too late to check out SAGE Research Methods for some interesting tips and tools.

Feel free to email us ask@suss.libanswers.com if you have any questions, or book a research consultation with a librarian here.
