by SUSS Library on 2020-08-03T16:40:00+08:00 | 0 Comments

This post is superseded by "Returning/Borrowing Books from SIM Tay Eng Soon Library", published on 21 October 2020.

SIM Tay Eng Soon Library will be open from 3 Aug 2020 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until further notice. Please refer to the information below to find out more about the required documents.

Returning to Campus

If you are returning to campus, please submit a health declaration and keep the email notification sent to you as proof of declaration for at least 14 days. On campus, please show your scheduled class timetable for face-to-face lessons to security staff and check-in by scanning the SafeEntry QR code. Don’t forget to activate your mobile phone’s Bluetooth and TraceTogether app at all times. For more information, please refer to SUSS Advisory and Updates on COVID-19.

If you wish to return physical books through the book drop or borrow physical books in SIM Library, but do not have a scheduled class timetable for face-to-face lessons or permission to be on campus, please email SUSS Library at ask@suss.libanswers.com and our librarians will assist you accordingly.

Borrowing of Physical Books and Other Materials

You are required to book a visit in advance if you wish to visit the SIM Library.

Bookings are only for students allowed to return to campus. You must attach EITHER ONE of the following when booking a slot with SIM Library:

  • Class schedule for face-to-face lesson, OR
  • Permission to be on campus (to study, etc.) OR
  • Approval from SUSS Library to return books/use the SIM Library.

Once you have completed your booking, an email confirmation from SIM Library will be sent to you.

On the day of your visit, you will need to present all three of the following:

  1. your SUSS student card
  2. a scheduled class timetable for face-to-face lessons on campus, or an approval email for campus access, and
  3. the SIM Library appointment notification email.

To ensure safe distancing, SIM Library members will be limited to only 30 minutes per entry, with a limit of 10 students per time slot. Please refer to Book A Visit To SIM Library for the complete list of guidelines.

We encourage you to use your University Library's online resources in the meantime.

Books Due

For books due from 2 April 2020 onwards, you will have until 12 Oct 2020 4 January 2021 to return them. You can drop them into the book drop outside SIM Library at your convenience, provided you are allowed to return to campus.

Do note that permission to be on campus granted by SUSS Library (for returning your books) is not the same as permission to visit SIM Library: you are still required to book a 30-minute slot should you wish to visit the library.

Please write to us at ask@suss.libanswers.com. We will advise you on your options and evaluate your request accordingly. Once again, we encourage you to use our online library resources where possible.

Printing/ Photocopying Services

If you need printing or photocopying services, Seng City is open from Mondays to Fridays, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. You can also email your print orders to Seng City and collect them from their office at Alpha Industrial Building.

Do email us at ask@suss.libanswers.com if you have any questions.

Please continue to stay safe, healthy and happy!
