Tips on how to search for the resources you need!

Preparing for your search

Prior to starting your search for resources on the SUSS Library website, you might wish to spend some time developing a search strategy. By creating a search strategy, you can boost the relevance of your searches.

Ways to develop your search strategy:

  1. Define your research topic
  • write down the research question clearly
  • brainstorm some of the ideas and themes pertaining topic

  1. Identify keywords and phrases
  • list all the keywords and key phrases
  • use a Thesaurus to look up variations of words/phrases

  1. Determine the scope of research
    • consider the time frame of your research
    • consider the type of resources you need
    • identify where to search for these resources
